Linden woman killed in accident, four injured

Linden: One person is dead and four injured in Linden smash up Tuesday morning. Dead is Toushanna Frank, 28 years of Amelia’s Ward Linden. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mackenzie Hospital, while her mother Paula Taylor, 51 years was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. 

The accident occurred at approximately 01:45 hrs, and according to reports, Taylor was driving motor car PSS 6725 north on the public road when she lost control and collided with mini bus, BTT 766. The driver of the bus, 57-year-old Royston Telford of Industrial Area, Mackenzie, who plies the Linden to Georgetown route, was proceeding South when Taylor drove into his lane.

He is currently admitted at the Mackenzie Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

The other occupants of the motor car were Frank’s two children, Jamica Chan, 10 and Darnelle Franc, 4. They were treated at the Mackenzie Hospital and sent home. According to an eyewitness, Taylor was driving at a reasonable speed in her lane when suddenly she changed lanes and collided with the front left hand side of the minibus.

The accident occurred in the same vicinity where 10 passengers of a minibus were killed when it collided with a lumber truck. According to Commander of the Division Karim Baskh, investigations are ongoing. Toshaunna was described by friends and family members as an outgoing and vibrant person. She was a vendor in the Mackenzie Market.
