Lawyer willing to accept the consequences of his bad behaviour

 

Bridgetown.

​ Attorney at law Alair Shepherd is willing to accept the consequences of his recent behaviour towards High Court Judge Dr Sonia Richards.

Two weeks ago, Shepherd bent over llifted his robes and uttered a profanity to Justice Richards in the corridor of her chambers.

Speaking to the media Shepherd said he wasn’t afraid of having his licence taken away for his recent outburst of bad behaviour at the Supreme Court.

The incident was witnessed by several lawyers, court staff and marshals, Shepherd aologized to Justice Richards saying thatt the incident was a result of his frustration over the administration of justice.

Last week, Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson promised the matter would be dealt with after all dialogue had been completed with officers of the court who witnessed the incident.

“Disbar me if you want, but get on with the job of having cases finished and let lawyers be able to earn a living like anyone else. I am willing to deal with whatever punishment they hand out, even if it means I wouldn’t be a lawyer anymore. At this stage I really don’t care anymore about what they do to me,” says Shepherd.alair_shepherd-450x350
