Housing Ministry soon to offer special concession on paint

Georgetown : Housing Minister Irfaan Ali disclosed that homeowners are in-line to benefit from special concession on paint prices, as two companies are currently seeking to enter an agreement with the ministry that will allow persons to purchase paint at reduced prices.

Minister Ali said that it is likely that in the next two weeks, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with these companies.

If implemented, this will be another in a line of initiatives that the Housing Ministry has introduced to benefit the thousands of new homeowners. The Ministry has successfully signed agreements for low to middle income families to purchase at special prices building and construction material.

Just recently the ministry signed similar agreements with National Hardware, but unlike those with other hardware stores, this moves beyond building materials and covers home furnishings. It also extended beyond low income families to middle to high middle income families.

These are all part of the ministry’s approach of enable the homeowners to realise their housing dream, from construction to furnishing.
