Hit and run driver caught and charged

East Bank Demerara : Damion Walcott A.K.A “Sky Cow”, 20, of 1693 Block 8, Tuschen New Scheme, East Bank Essequibo who last Sunday fled an accident scene at Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, which resulted in the death of Vincent Scipio, was apprehended.

 
Thursday he appeared before two Magistrates at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to a total of five charges, four of which he pleaded guilty and was fined by Magistrate Dylon Bess; the other, Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, he was placed on $500,000.00 bail by the Chief Magistrate with condition attached, i.e. he is to report to the Tuschen Police Outpost on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the conclusion of the trial which is set for report and statements on January 11, 2018 at Court 1. He also required to report to the Providence Police Station on Fridays.
 
The charges that have been concluded are:
 
Fail to render assistance to an injured person – fined $10,000.00.
Fail to report an accident – fined $10,000.00.
Breach of Insurance – fined $20,000.00.
Unlicensed Driver – fined $40,000.00.
