Georgetown: A new book of inspirational stories has been launched. The publication, a sequel to Garland of pearls Volume I, is written and produced by Dr. Yog Mahadeo, local philanthropist, entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Inc.
A garland of pearls Volume II is a collection of 108 stories, poems and thoughts, some written by Dr. Mahadeo and others quoted sources, the book provides stories with a punch that will inspire, thrill, motivate and, in the words of the author, “add the music of silence to the soul.”
In addition to its 200-pages content, the book contains appropriate inspiring quotations and notes to the stories from their sources.
This book, which debut on February 1, follows volume 1 which was published in 2009. At the launch, Dr. Mahadeo reflected on his parents who told him these stories as a child.
“I made notes and have been investigating their sources as far as practical… Many of the stories have been adopted by various religions and groups,” Mahadeo said.
In honour of parents, the CEO also presented one of the first copies of the book to his brother, Dr Vishwa Mahadeo.
The cover design of the sequel has the lotus flower which “rises out of mud and dirt to beautify the world” according to Dr. Mahadeo, “representing our own ability to rise above the challenges and negatives of the world.”
The cover is an illustration by Royston Chase, of Albouystown. The budding artist was very happy to have been given the opportunity to design the cover of the book.
“I am happy to play a part and to help inspire people through my art. I thank Dr. Mahadeo for having confidence in me.” Chase said.
The book will be available across the country. When asked about availability of Volume I, the author said, “We are working on a revised edition of Volume I and should have that available in stores very soon.”
Interestingly, the back cover of the publication invites readers to get their copy of Garland of pearls volumes 1 to 3 – a clear indication of yet another sequel that will soon be released.
