Deportees to the Caribbean growing as Guyana receives over 60 within a few months.

Georgetown: The US Immigration and Enforcement Agency is showing no mercy in deporting offenders to the Caribbean which to date numbers 2,000 in the last 6 months. The criminals as they are referred to by ICE are deported for the simplest of offences. A situation which Governments of the Caribbean raised concerns about. People who spend almost all their lives in the states are sent back into a society they know nothing about. Integration has often been the problem. The deportees often resort to criminal activities here in Guyana since most of them find it difficult to integrate into the society.

During the last 6 months 64 deportees were sent back to Guyana for criminal offences. The US Immigration and Enforcement Agency still has a considerable amount in jail due back in the Caribbean soon.
