Crime chief denies Granger claims on crime situation.

Georgetown : Crime chief Assistant Commissioner Seelall Persaud categorically denies that he ever had any discussion with Mr. David Granger, PNC presidential cadidate in relation to crime or the crime situation in Guyana and that he has ever confirmed to anyone that, on average, there were about two armed robberies every day.

The statement on Crime and Business was read by Presidential Candidate Mr. David Granger on the ‘Facing the Nation’ programme on CNS TV Channel 6 on Friday May 06, 2011, and which was subsequently issued to the media, in which Mr. David Granger said that head of the Police Criminal Investigation Department Mr. Seelall Persaud some time ago confirmed that, on average, there were about two armed robberies every day (in Guyana).
