COP calls for respect of others’ beliefs this Easter

St James: Political Leader of the Congress of the People Prakash Ramadhar says citizens should renew their commitment to respecting each other's spiritual beliefs.

In his Easter message, Ramadhar also called on citizens to make a serious attempt at spiritual regeneration, interspersed with human values that reconnect us with god and country.

Ramadhar says Easter is the central foundation of Christianity, that celebrates the life, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On behalf his party's national executive, and other members of the COP Ramadhar has extended best wishes to the Christian community on the occasion of Easter.

He says Easter resonates a deep spiritual aura which focusses on the sacrifices of Jesus and reminds us of the injustices he underwent.

He believes the life and teachings of Jesus Christ displayed  humility, selflessness and unwavering service.

He also believes Easter is a time of renewal when important Biblical lessons are reinforced in addressing the challenges facing our nation and their solutions, as we aim to to make our state a place of acceptable values.

He says these values must have relevance whether in politics, humanitarian service, corporate or personal ventures.
