Charlestown Secondary alumni, STARR Computer CEO aids alma mater

StarrGeorgetown: Fifty one years ago, the convergence of three overcrowded high schools migrated into the birth of Charlestown Government Secondary School (CGSS). The schools St. Stephens, Carmel RC and Dolphin had five decades ago merged.

Under the leadership of Headmaster Edgar Wilson, Charlestown did not take the best of the best, but, took the ones who wanted a good Secondary education.

This was the sentiment of STARR Computer CEO Michael Mohan as he teamed up recently with CGSS Alumni Organization to donate two, HP Enterprise AIO Printers and some accessories worth over $500,000 to the Charlestown Secondary.

The Alumni Organization was represented by Alex Neptune, Linden Branche along with STARR Computer CEO Mike Mohan, an alumnus himself.

“I remembered Mr. Wilson the headmaster telling us if you choose to come to my school, you must prepare to work hard and smart. And, I am happy to say Alex and I were two of the fortunate students who attended,” Mohan declared. “Charlestown has always produced quality students in the community, and, I am happy to see that the high standards continued today. In addition to the young man standing next to me, Mr. Neptune, we had others like Minister Winston Felix, Ex Ministers Nadir, Henry Mutoo of the Cayman Island, Dennis Murray, Hospital Administrator and a whole host of distinguished personalities from our time and years to follow.”

In giving the students present some advice, Alex Neptune related that hard work is the key to success and nothing can be achieved without hard work.

Charlestown’s Deputy Head teacher Allison Cosbert expressed heartfelt thanks and promised to assist in the care of the products which will enhance the functions and development of the school.
