Police Headquarter,Georgetown-
The decomposing bodies of the two men found in the backlands of the Kara Kara Creek, Linden, yesterday have been identified as Kurt Thierens of Middle Walk, Buxton, ECD, and Adriano Tracey of William Street, Kitty, Georgetown. A wanted bulletin was issued for Kurt Theirens in relation to the arson at the Ministry of Health.

Post mortem examinations were today performed on the bodies by Dr. V. Brijmohan who gave the cause of death of Kurt Thierens as gunshot injury and haemorrhage to the brain and that of Adriano Tracey as multiple gunshot injuries.

Georgetown – Police investigators today continue to scour the area where a quantity of arms and ammunition were discovered at Amelia’s Ward, Linden on Thursday. TrakkerNews understands the police are working on  information from a suspect in custody who is responsible for a series of crimes including being part of a gang that carried out several attacks in the city during 2009- including the Ministry of Health fire. Investigators believe they have cracked down on a serious gang.

 West Bank Demerara-The police are investigating the murder of 21 year-old Randy Joseph,  a fisherman of Westminster Scheme, West Bank Demerara, which occurred around 1am today. The police says Joseph and another man were imbibing when an argument developed and he was stabbed.  He was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect has been arrested and the knife believed to have been used, recovered by the police.

 
 

 Liliendaal, Georgetown- President of Ecuador Rafael Correa handed over the mantle of chairmanship of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) to Guyanese President Bharrat today, promising his full support. President Correa promised the Guyanese President to count on his support to better deliver what he needs to do.

Two men are in custody tonight after police intercepted their car and allegedly found a quantity of ammunition.
Sources told TrakkerNews the car was stopped during a roadblock along the East Coast Demerara earlier this evening.
This comes after a recent upsurge in crime in the area and a new heightened police security for the holiday season.

Liliendaal, Georgetown-Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, arriving along with other South American leaders for the official opening of the Unasur Summit, told reporters that he is pleased with the ongoing relationship with the Government and people of Guyana. He plans to visit Guyana regularly  in the interest of mutual friendship and benefit of the people of both Guyana and Venezuela.
