Georgetown : Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) on Tuesday announced it will be boosting incentives for cane cutters in addition to a five percent increase in wages retroactive from January 1.
The Corporation had on all previous meetings offered to review the pay of certain jobs the Union believes to be anomalous in pay. The Union insisted that any review must be done for all the jobs.
National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) whom is the bargaining unit has a membership at GuySuCo that numbers around 800 and includes field supervisors; nurses; clerical staff; lab technicians; sugar boilers; and workshop foremen.
