Canal family protests Home Affairs Office over delay in missing relative investigation.

Georgetown : The relatives of Haimchand Bhoodram who went missing on March 10th at Kamarang, in the interior of Guyana, staged a protest action in front of the Ministry of Home Affairs this morning.

The family who hails from Canal, West Demerara, said their action came after several weeks of a lack of police investigation and promises being made by the subject minister Clement Rohee.

The missing man’s wife told TrakkerNews that her husband was working with Kay’s Enterprise as a welder since February of this year and just before he went missing, he had indicated to her via telephone that he was having problems with some co-workers, but he will remain on the job since his employers had him second in charge at the operation site where they dredge for gold and diamond.

The grieving woman explained that after her husband went missing she made contact with the company only to hear that he was not employ there, then she realized that something was wrong.

The police was contacted and a search was done. Other family members told this publication that the police was dragging their feet on the investigation and that prompted them to conduct their own private search on several occasions after, but found it difficult since accessing the area needs air and river support to travel.

The family then visited Minister Rohee on March 25th and explained their situation and according to them ,the Minister promised to assist but to date no word from him. They then gathered and stage today’s action since they strongly believed their loved one is still alive somewhere in the interior.
