Georgetown : President Bharrat Jagdeo’s presence at the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) company’s 10/10 Softball Tournament finals added to excitement at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
President Bharrat Jagdeo in congratulating the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company for hosting the 10/10 softball cricket tournament said, the phone giants successfully managed to unite a large number of Guyanese from across the regions.
He said that while there is absolutely no doubt that the competition will bring immense value to the company, it serves another useful purpose of bringing people together, who, probably would have never had that opportunity outside of the tournament.
The President noted that the inter-county games present a good opportunity for the development of lasting friendships and acquaintances that helps to build that kind of camaraderie spirit that Guyanese are known for.
“When we are united and we work together we can achieve the collective dream of the country,” he said.
The tournament ended Sunday night with the Berbice All Stars female team and the Wolf Warriors emerging as the winners respective gender categories.
