Campaign Manager suggests computers were sabotage

Bridgetown.

A top official of the oppostition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has suggested computer sabotage, after the party's newsletter was emailed to several supporters in rapid succession yesterday afternoon.

Jimmy Serrao the campaign manager of the BLP said the security systems would be strengthened to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

He descibed the incident as a highly unsual technical occurence in an apology email to party supporters.

"A highly unusual technical occurrence happened to day which resulted in dozens of email being sent to supporters like you. We are currently actively investigating the cause and strengthening our systems, including our security systems; to ensure that this will never happen again", Serrao said.

"It is clear now that election has begun. Over the coming weeks, our increasingly desperate opponents will try every trick in the book to try to distract you from their dismal record of 10,000 lost jobs and a 30% rise in the cost of living", he added.
