Businessmen exposing staff to unnecessarily crime acts

Bridgetown.

Businessmen are taking too many person  risks and exposing their staff to unnecessarily acts of crime, Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaithe told a Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Security Seminar  at the Hilton Hotel yesterday.

"Many businessmen seems to believe that having a gun is preferable to employing cash in transit facilities, a lot of businessmen and executives do not know the cost involved to employ a private security firm", Brathwaithe said.

He questioned if it was necessary in modern Barbados for gas attendants to display large sums of money when making change for customers.

Brathwaithe stated that business security was paramount to the island's economy.

The forum was sponsored by the regional security firm Guardman.
