Georgetown: Police Commissioner, Leroy Brumell was confirmed as Police Commissioner today. Opposition Leader David Granger met with the President on Brummel’s confirmation and Granger did not oppose the move.
Brumell has been acting as the Police Commissioner since former Commissioner Henry Greene stepped down after rape allegations. He was later killed in a vehicular accident. Brumell’s confirmation comes when the force moves to introduce a SWAT team for the police Force.
Following tear, Brumell said “I took the oath to serve and protect almost 36 years ago with the ambition of becoming the Commissioner of Police. Today, that dream has become a reality. It has been a long and hard road.”
