Boat and Engine given to Savannah Farmers Group

Agriculture Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy hands over the keys of the Boat and Engine to Secretary of the Group. Looking on is Chairman Mr. DeolallGeorgetown: Agriculture Minister Dr. Leslie Ramsammy recently handed over a Boat and Engine to the Pine Ground first Savannah Farmers Group- a fulfillment of a promise made to residents during the last visit.

The Boat and Engine which was procured at a cost of $1.8M will significant assist not only the 31 members of the group but also the community.

Chairman of the Group, Mr. Bholanauth Deolalllauded the move of the Government noting that the gesture will go a far way. 

“I would like to thank the Ministry of Agriculture and by extension Dr. Ramsammy for fulfilling a request made by us the members of this group…we are extremely happy today because this boat and engine will go a far way in assisting the farmers in transporting their produce out of the Creek to the market,” he said.

The Agriculture Minister while handing over the keys to the Secretary of the Group reminded them that while Government will like to address all request made, development takes time and as such, happens in phase.

He reminded the Group to at all-timecare the item handed over to them and to ensure that it is used for the intended purpose.
