Barbados has performed well says banker

Bridgetown.

Managing Director of CIBC First Caribbean for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Mark St Hill, thinks Barbados has performed well in the current economic climate.

St.Hill told Trakker News that within the regional context the island has performed well despite the prolonged global economic downturn adding that that the bank had position itself to captitalise on opportunities when the economic upswing began.

"Our performance has been satisfactory when you take the current economic climate into consideration. We done a lot in terms of making sure that our platform is ready for that growth when those opportunities arise again", St Hill said.

He was cautious when asked whether there were any any indications as to when the global economic downturn will end.

According to St Hill, there were some positive signs emanating from the United States.

"I do not have a crystal ball but there are indications that the United States are about to turnaround", St Hill said.
