Bandits carted off with undisclosed sum of money from pump attendant

Georgetown : Driver Mohamed Wahid of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, and gas station pump-attendant Pierre Fordyce were taking an undisclosed sum of cash to deposit at a bank on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, when on arrival in their motor vehicle PHH 3712 they were confronted and held up by two men.

The men demanded the bag with the cash and the victims put up a resistance during which Mohamed Wahid was shot to his face and Pierre Fordyce was shot to his left leg. The perpetrators then escaped in motor vehicle PHH 3712 which was later found abandoned along Mandela Avenue.

Mohamed Wahid and Pierre Fordyce have been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
