Armed bandits robbed Berbice family-one man shot

 

Berbice : 30 year old Oliver Premaul is in a stable condition today at the New Amsterdam Hospital after being shot by bandits. Last night Premaul and his wife Nazeema Amoolayan were in the verandah of their home at Tain, Corentyne, when five men, one of whom was armed with a shotgun and the others with cutlasses, entered the premises and held them up.

During the  robbery Oliver Permaul was shot to his left foot and chopped to his left arm, while Nazeema Amoolayan was assaulted  about her body

The bandits made off with a quantity of jewllery valued at $2M, $480,000.00, a laptop computer, a DVD player and two cell phones and escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.
