Another marijuana bust in Biche forest; $102 million worth destroyed

Biche: Another major marijuana find in the Biche forest. this time $102 million worth of marijuana was been seized and destroyed.

The seizure was announced at the police news briefing today, where it was also revealed that a Fyzabad man was held after being found with a weapons and a gun making machine.

Law enforcement officials say they will be going all out to eradicate illegal drugs in particular marijuana off the streets of the country.

On Monday Lt Col Roderick Carter of the Defence Force revealed that between Friday 21st, October and Saturday 22nd members of the Defence Force along with the Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau ventured once again the the Biche forest, where they made another large drug find.

Lt Col Carter says law enforcment officials destroyed over 30,000 marijuana trees and seedlings. Since the State of Emergency began over $200 million worth of marijuana has been seized and found in the Biche forest.

He admits that arrests are not being made, since those in charge of the illegal camps elude capture before soldiers hit the ground.

The Defence Force official is now urging all those involved in the illegal drug trade to quit, since he says there will be no let up.

Meanwhile, the police and the Defence Force say there has also been major gains with regards to the illegal gun trade over the weekend.
