AFC rebuffs President’s appeal, and urges formation of procurement commission

imagesGeorgetown : The Alliance For Change echoes the refrain "too late, too late" in response to the last-minute appeal by President Ramotar for approval of reform to the Anti-money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism law.

The AFC reminds the President that it is the default of his Government that has placed Guyana in the jaws of sanction.

President Ramotar has made no admission but instead placed the burden of saving Guyana on the shoulder of the parliamentary opposition parties.

The Alliance For Change is not amused that the President who had gleefully refused to assent Opposition bills, is seeking approval of government measures by the same opposition he had degraded  and besmirched.

The party claims they are revolted by the President's continued stiff back to the formation of the Public Procurement Commission, which our Constitution commands
