Berbice : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 8:15pm yesterday at No. 37 Village, West Coast Berbice and resulted in the death of an unidentified female pedestrian of East Indian descent.
Investigations have revealed that the driver of motor vehicle PMM 8310 was proceeding along the roadway, allegedly at a fast rate, and collided with the pedestrian. She was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The body is at the hospital mortuary.
The driver has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations
The victim of is about 5ft. 4 inches, slim built, brown complexion and was clad in a dark grey top, blue jeans and a pair of pink slippers.
