706 motorists charged for speeding

GPF EmblemGeorgetown: The Guyana Police Force (GPF) announced that it continues its traffic enforcement, unto April 13, 2015, there have been a total of thirty (30) road fatalities, compared to thirty one (31) for the corresponding period last year.
The police added that while the statistics indicate a decrease in accidents overall during the past two weeks, they are encouraging motorists to be extra vigilant on the roadways in light of schools being re-opened and to adhere to the five Cs – Care, Caution, Common Sense, Courtesy and Consideration.

During the period April 5 to 11, 2015, a number of cases were made against motorists for breaching the traffic laws.

So far, nine persons have been charged for the soliciting of passengers (touting).
