Essequibo : Investigations are being conducted into the death of diver Thomas Anton of Kamarang, that occurred at about 11:45 yesterday, at Quimenang River, Upper Mazaruni.
Investigations so far have revealed that the 64 year old Anton was operating a mining equipment under water, when it is suspected that he drowned after being trapped under a quantity of loose earth.
The body is at the Kamarang Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination.
