93 year old doctor and seven others are homeless after fire gutted two storey building
Eight residents of Campbellville Guyana, among them a 93 year-old doctor, are today trying to find shelter after a fire destroyed a two story building at 109 Bonsika Street last night.
The fire started at the bottom flat of the building which was occupied by four teenagers, fire officials say.
Suspected bicycle thief shot dead
A man accused of stealing a bicycle was shot dead near his home in Kitty, Guyana this morning.
Roy Smith, 33, of 180 Thomas Street was shot dead by an unknown assailant. The gunman escaped but police have held his fiance for questioning. Smith was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown hospital a few hours ago.
Investigations are continuing.
