Thousands of marijuana plants were destroyed by the police.
The police today conducted a drug eradication operation at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke/Linden Highway where a field of about two acres with approximately 3,000 marijuana plants, ranging between 3 to 6 feet in height, and a nursery with about 5,000 seedlings were found.
In addition a camp was found with a hammock, clothing, foodstuff, garden tools and cooking utensils within the dense vegetation.
The main opposition party PNC/R this morning lashed out at the ruling PPP/C saying that the party’s policy under the present President has failed to create the national conditions which would encourage Guyanese to stay at home to contribute to national development.
