NAACIE holding its 51st Delegates Conference on Thursday May 19.

Georgetown :The National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) will be holding its 51st Delegates (1st Triennial) Conference on Thursday, May 19th to Saturday, May 21st at the Umana Yana .

This Conference is expected to be addressed and opened by the President, Bharat Jagdeo. The Theme of the Conference is "Defending The Rights To Decent Work" a topic that is relevant at this time of greater exploitation of workers throughout the world.

Delegates are to arrive from throughout the Coast line and as far as Linden because the NAACIE represent workers in the Sugar Industry, Guysuco, the Guyana Power & Light, The National Frequency Management Unit, Houston Estate, the Caribbean Container Inc. and the BOSAI Bauxite in Linden. The NAACIE continue to have a Recognition Agreement with the Toolsie Persaud Limited that is being presently being held in breach by the Company. This matter is in Court.

 

Decisions will be made by the Conference that will instruct the Union’s Executive and members on the path of the Union for the next three years in all spheres, Economic, Social, Political etc.
