Woodlands Hospital now offers ambulance service

AmbulanceGeorgetown: The Woodlands Hospital in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Science and Technology (RGUST) yesterday launched its first Ambulance Service.

RGUST is an institute which offers courses in Medicine, Pre-medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

The state of the art ambulance cost more than GUY$12M. The ambulance is available to the general public and other hospitals on a daily basis at a low cost and has three personnel- a driver, a nurse and an assistant.

 This was announced at the hospital’s Carmichael Street Location. Ambulance Coordinator and Local representative of RGUST, Anish Kumar said the introduction of such a Service will enhance the health care system. 

 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Woodlands Hospital, Neville Gobin said “This is the best ambulance in the country, best equipped and best staffed. It’s on par with the ambulance that you would find in London and the USA. This ambulance is not only meant for the patient at Woodlands Hospital, anyone who desires to use this service can do so,” Neville Gobin said.
