Woman fined

Bridgetown.

Daniele Maraj was fined $200 in the District A Magistrates Court yesterday, after her dogs attacked the daughter of the Commissioner of Police while she was exercising at the Garrison Savannah.

Maraj swore that her dogs were well trained rescue dogs but Dawn Dottin said, that those same dogs attacked and bit her as she laid on the ground.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant Irvin Kellman told the Court that Dottin was excercising at the Garrison Savannah , where Maraj had her dogs,three of them were not on leashes.

The dogs attacked Dottin forcing her to seek refuge on top of a structure.

Maraj rounded up her dogs, took them to her car and drove off.

Dottin saw the car's registration number and reported it.

Acting Chief Magistrate Deborah Holder convicted,reprimanded and discharged Holder for keeping the dogs without a licence.

She fined her $200 forthwith or one month in prison for having the dogs in a public place without a leash.

The fine was paid.
