West Indies humble Zimbabwe in two and a half days

Bridgetown.

Off spinner Shane Shillingford took four wickets in an unbroken spell  before lunch to set up a comprehensive victory against Zimbabwe on the third day of the First Test at Kensington.

  Zimbabwe were 107 five minutes before lunch, they started day on 41 for 3, the overnight batsmen were captain Brendan Taylor and nightwatchman Raymond Price.

Talyor was dismissed by Shillingford off the last ball of the first over the morning, this started a steady procession of batmen to the crease.

Shillingford in his international comeback match weave his magic around the batsmen from the Joel Garner end, while fast bowlers Kemar Roach, Tino Best and Shannon Garbriel bowled with sustain pace from the Malcom Marshall as Zimbabwe collapsed to 107 all out five minutes before lunch.

The off spinner had dismissed two batsmen overnight, took four wicket to finished with 6 wickets for 49 runs, his best figures in a test innings. Gabriel took  3 wickets for 10 runs from 7.4 overs.

Set a target of 12 runs to win the match, the West Indies reach the target just after lunch  for the lost of Kieran Powell's wicket.

  This victory against Zimbabwe was the West Indies fifth consecutive win in test cricket, the last  ocassion West Indies achived such a feat was against Australia  at Brisbane in 1988 under the captaincy of the great Vivian Richards.
