West Coast Demerara: Balram Teekaram and his son Rajendra Teekaram of Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara were attacked and robbed of a silver chain, cell phone and ipod by three men, two of whom were armed with handguns.
According to a police report, Balram Teekaram was aroused by noise in his home and upon checking he was confronted by the perpetrators who held him at gunpoint and demanded cash and jewellery. The men also held up Rajendra Teekaram after which they ransacked the house and took away the articles and escaped. During the incident the two victims were beaten about their bodies with the firearms by the armed men.
Balram Teekaram and Rajendra Teekaram were taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital for medical treatment where Balram Teekaram was admitted a patient while Rajendra Teekaram was treated and sent away.
