Water woes

Bridgetown.

The  Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has been forced to stop pumping water in the early hours of the morning due to low reservior levels.

From today,  in mostly rural areas, pumping of water will be stopped between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. in an effort to keep levels up for adequate consumption during daylight hours.

According to BWA officials, the constant use of water to wash vehicles and wet gardens should cease immediately to protect the country’s most precious resource.

Yesterday  the cash-state run  agency was bombarded with calls from angry Barbadians across the island, as the combination of water outages and low water pressure that started from Good Friday and continued  over the weekend  took their toll.
