Warning to the elderly

Bridgetown.

Crime Prevention Officer of the Royal Barbados Police Force Station Sergeant Stephen Griffith is advising Barbadians, especially elderly people to be vigilance when going about their day to day activities.

Griffith says the elderly are sometimes the target of criminal elements in the society when they are walking the streets, shopping in stores, using their vehicles and at home.

He advised the elderly not to display large sums of money while shopping and to use cheques, credit cards or bank cards where possible.

Griffith says when feasible an elderly person should take a friend or family member when going shopping and avoid going on errands the same day each week.
