Warner faces more allegations of corruption

Port-of-Spain: Allegations of impropriety are being levelled against Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner in the British House of Commons.

Former England Football Association Chairman Lord  Triesman claims four FIFA members including Warner sought "bribes" in return for backing England's failed 2018 World Cup bid.

Warner reportedly requested £2.5 million pounds to build an education centre in Trinidad but Warner is dismissing the allegation.

Lord Triesman told a Department of Culture, Media and Sport Committee that his bid team should have reported them immediately saying as well that he will now take his evidence to FIFA.

He claimed that Warner also asked for 500,000 pounds sterling to buy Haiti's World Cup TV rights for the earthquake-hit nation.

In reply Warner says,  "I have no intention of dignifying this piece of nonsense … no doubt he [Triesman] feels he can revive his dying political career by a piece of foolishness. I have never asked Triesman, nor any other person, Englishman or otherwise, for any money for my vote at any time. I have spoken to Triesman on only three occasions and not one of his colleagues will ever corroborate his bit of trivia."
