Wanted man shot during scuffle with armed policewoman

Georgetown : Last night at around 8pm, ranks of a mobile police patrol responded to a report received from a policewoman that a suspect who was wanted for robbery under arms  had assaulted her in Albouystown, Georgetown.

 

The police, accompanied by the reporter, went to Hill Street, Albouystown, where the suspect Adrian Bishop of Garnett Street, Kitty, was pointed out to them. Adrian Bishop was informed of the allegation against him and was arrested and placed into the police vehicle.

 

While being transported to the police station he held on to a policeman who was armed with a shotgun and a struggle ensued during which he was shot to his neck. He was pronounced dead  at the Georgetown public Hospital.

 

Bishop was currently before the court on charges of robbery under arms and assault for which he had been placed on bail.
