US oil & gas company to start prospecting

OilGeorgetown: US based Anadarko Petroleum Corporation recently met with Guyana’s Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Robert Persaud to discuss oil and natural gas explorations.

The company is expected to begin undertaking prospecting operations in Guyana by year-end.

Andrew Mehlop, Exploration Manager, South America; Richard Lapin, Attorney, International Business Development and Dr. Freyd Rad, Chief Geologist Brazil, and International Exploration met with the Minister.

The company is headquartered in The Woodlands, SPD Montgomery County, Texas and employs a worldwide workforce of about 4,000. Anadarko shared its plans for new exploration activities in Anadarko Guyana Company’s offshore Roraima Block.

Prospecting operations in the form of 2D Marine Seismic Surveys could commence as early as the last quarter of 2013.
