Union calls for GPL CEO to be sacked

The trade union body representing a large section of workers attached to the Guyana’s Power and Light Company (GPL) is calling for the immediate sacking of the entity’s Chief Executive Officer, Bharrat Dindyal.

The National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) have communicated its demand to the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the utility Company, Winston Brassington.

The union prefaces its demand inter alia, Dindyal’s “relationship with and attitude to NAACIE.”

The union accuses Dindyal of engaging in the unsavory practices as it relates to employment and adds that the trouble with the Union and the CEO stems back to 2007.
