Union boss disappointed

Bridgetown.

General Secretary of the Barbados Worker Union (BWU) Sir Roy Trotman, has expressed disappointment over the length of time Minister of Labour Dr Ester Byer-Suckoo is taking to resolve the wage dispute between the BWU and the telecommunication company LIME.

Sir Roy told Trakker News he had not yet heard from the Minister of Labour, the Chief Labour Officer nor the Ministry of Labour.

"I find this rather disapointing, although everyone is busy, I don't want  anyone to get the impression that the BWU does not want a speedy resolution", Sir Roy said.

A week ago wage negotiations between LIME and the BWU were forwarded to the minister, after they had broke down in a meeting chaired by Chief Labour Officer Vincent Burnett.
