Two year old died in burning house

East Coast Demerara -Investigations are being conducted into a fire of so far of unknown origin that occurred today at Lusignan South Squatting Area, ECD, and which completely destroyed the dwelling house of Pulmattie Singh.
Her grandson Nicholas Maraj, 2 years, perished in the fire.

The 48 year old Pulmattie Singh had left home to take her granddaughter to school leaving Nicholas Maraj and another grandson Anthony Singh, 3 years, at home.

Neighbouring residents later saw the wooden building on fire and raised an alarm.

  Anthony Singh managed to exit the building, but the charred remains of Nicholas Maraj were found among the debris after the fire was extinguished by personnel from the Guyana Fire Service.
