Two stabbed, one in critical condition

Antigua :Two separate stabbing incidents in the last 36 hours have left a Gray’s Farm man seriously injured in hospital and a Paradise View resident recovering at home.

According to police reports, the Gray’s Farm man was attacked while walking in the Heritage Quay area in the wee hours of yesterday morning.

Lawmen said the victim was walking along Thames Street, when a knife-wielding man pounced on him and tried to rob him.

A struggle ended with the Gray’s Farm man being stabbed multiple times, particularly in the upper body.

While police did not indicate who summoned Emergency Medical Services (EMS), lawmen said paramedics took the victim to Mount St John’s Medical Centre.

Investigators reported doctors informed them the injuries are serious and the victim is in stable condition.

Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the incident.

In the second matter, seemingly unrelated, a 20-year-old man of Paradise View had to seek medical treatment after he was attacked and stabbed by an unknown man.

The stabbing victim reported that he was walking along Athill Street, Villa, around 7:30 pm Tuesday, when a man rushed at him and stabbed him in his right arm.

The non-life threatening injury was sutured at the hospital and the victim was sent home.

Similarly as in the stabbing at Heritage Quay, there has been no arrest in this case.
