Charlieville: Police are investigating the murder of a mentally challenged woman in Charlieville this morning.
Police reports say Chandai Sinninan of Caroni Savannah Road was found dead by police officers in her house, after a 34 year-old male relative reported the crime to the police just after 7 o'clock this morning.
Officers say the man reported that he and Sinninan got into a heated argument and he dealt the woman several blows to her head with a peice of wood, around midnight.
The 34 year-old relative, who surrendered to the police, is also mentally unstable.
Police say the murder is the latest, to stem from a domestic dispute. since the State of Emergency began one month ago, it is the fourth to occur.
Meanwhile, a Tunapuna man was found dead on Oxford Street, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain on Tuesday night. The murdered man has been identified as 26 year old Roland Ordain.
Police reports are that residents heard loud explosions in the area and upon investigating they saw Ordain's motionless body lying at the side of the road.
Residents told police that they were not accustomed to seeing 26 year-old Ordain in the area and police suspect he may have been brought to the area and murdered during a dispute.
