Two men arrested and identified for carjacking and robberies

Georgetown : Continuing investigations into a number of recent armed robberies in which taxi-drivers have been held up and their motor vehicles taken away, the police arrested two men yesterday, who have been so far positively identified as the perpetrators of two of the robberies, involving the use of firearms, and an attempted robbery involving the use of knives.

The two men have been identified as having robbed Taxi Driver Carlos Pollydore of his motor car on July 03, 2015, at “C” Field, Sophia, and Taxi Driver Shabeer Mohamed of his motor vehicle on May 29, 2015, at Cumming Lodge, Eeast Coast Demerara; as well as attempting to rob Ryan Marks at “C” Field, Sophia, on July 01, 2015, while armed with knives.

They are in police custody and will be charged shortly.
