Two feared drowned at Takuba Lodge

Investigations are being conducted into the suspected drowning of Quacy Rover, 37 years, and Dwayne Thomas, 31 years, of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, which occurred at about 3pm yesterday at Takuba Lodge Landing, Konawaruk.

Investigations have revealed that Quacy Rover, Dwayne Thomas and another man were using a boat to cross the Konawaruk River, unknown to the owner.

The owner saw them in the process and is alleged to have begun throwing missiles at the men in the boat. Apparently, in trying to evade the missiles, Quacy Rover and Dwayne Thomas fell into the river and are feared drowned as they have not been seen since.

The owner of the boat is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
