Trinidadian caught with drugs at airport

Bridgetown.

A Trinidadian national was caught at the Grantley Adams International Airport trying  to smuggle drugs into the Brabados.

 O’Brian Kenny Mackie, 35, arrived at the GAIA yesterday morning and was  interviewed by members of the Drugs Squad and referred to Customs. However, nothing was found.

Mackie was  taken to the Oistins Police Station and a search of his luggage revealed a false bottom, where one-and-a-half pounds of cannabis were discovered in six packages.

O’Brian Mackie is expected to appear in the District B Magistrates Court to answer to the charges of possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
