Tourism Minister meets with Delta Representatives

Georgetown: Delta Airlines is now on board to support the Government of Guyana in assisting the stranded passengers affected by EZjet suspension.

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Irfaan Ali, Thursday met with representatives of Delta Airlines to discuss measures to address the current airlift woes as we move towards the busy Christmas season and on into the New Year.

Delta’s representatives, Mr. Richard Pyle the Regional District Sales Manager, and Mr. Junior Horatio, Sales Manager pledged their assistance while endorsing Minister Ali’s plan to work on joint initiatives.

In addition, they assured that their fee structure will remain the same; their cheapest one way fare is US$360.00 inclusive of taxes, and the carrier will also increase their airlift, so that passengers will be able to travel on daily flights from New York for the period 15th December 2012 to 9th January 2013. 

The group praised Minister Ali’s drive in developing the tourism sector and indicated that they will seek to streamline pricing and airlift issues. 

 In this regard, the Tourism Minister assured that he will continue to work tirelessly to acquire better fuel prices for the industry.
