Tourism awareness campaign launched

Bridgetown.

Too many Barbadians are not  fully aware of the vital role tourism plays in the economy and the high quality of life they enjoy, say Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy.

Speaking at the launch of the St Giles' Nursery School's Annual Education Project under the theme; "Tourism is Our Business We Are Playing Our Part", he said the Ministry of Tourism will be embarking on public awareness campaign to close the disconnect between the average Barbadian and the tourism industry.

According to Sealy, when people talk about tourism they paid attention to the bigger issue like visitor arrivials and seldom look at the factors which contributed to these issue; like teaching them how to interact with tourists on a postive level to encourage them to return to the island.
