Top Cop claims to be misquoted by SN on police use of unmarked vehicles.

Georgetown : Cognisant of an article published in the Stabroek News today, where Commissioner of Police (acting) Mr. Seelall Persaud says he is misquoted as saying that “It has never been the policy of the police to use unmarked vehicles”, the Guyana Police Force is clarifying what was in fact said by Mr. Persaud.

What the acting top cop said was that police ranks in plain clothes operating in unmarked vehicles are not authorised to make traffic stops.

Historically, the Police Force has used and continue to use unmarked vehicles in covert operations.
