Too many sex images on television

Bridgetown.

Minister of Family, Stephen Lashley, has stated that there is to much sexuality and homosexuality on some television channels.

"If we are serious about combating teenage pregnancy,we have to initiate a national debate about what we are showing teenagers on our television, and the movies we are taking home from our video shops for them to watch," said Lashley.

The minister argued, that many of the programmes were alien to local culture and urged children to take a stand by refusing to watch them.

Lashley, made the remarks in a address to  the Child Care Board's Youth Forum earlier this week.

Over 100 school children, their guidance counsellors and staff of the Board attented  the forum.
