Three in the race for the top WICB post

Bridgetown.

The election of a  President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in April could be a three man race between former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, vice president of the WICB Dave Cameron and the incumbent Julian Hunte.

A few week ago Hunte informed some directors of the WICB that he would not be seeking a fourth successive term. He has changed his mind and will be contesting the top position again.

Cameron, who has served as the vice president of the WICB since 2007 says he was approached by the director shareholders after Hunte indicated he was not seeking the top position.

"The director shareholders decided to nominate me and I am making myself available to be president.I have been on the board for 11 years. I have served on most of the major committes and during my tenure as chairman different committes, I have brought ideals to the WICB", says the 42 year old Jamiaca.

Lloyd, 62, the most successful West Indies captain ever comfirmed to Trakker News that he is entering the race to be president of the WICB and was in the processof trying to find a nominee and a seconder from among the six territorial boards.

This is the first time that Hunte 72 is expected to have a challenge for the top post, he was elected unopposed in 2007, 2009 and 2011.
